Every diet, every faith

Halal, kosher, Jain, Sikh, vegan, celiac.

Scannibal knows the real rules, not just the labels: hidden gelatin, lard, alcohol in sauces and vanilla, carmine, animal rennet, onion and garlic for Jain diets. It checks them on menus, labels, supplements, skincare and drinks.

Questions

Is Scannibal free?

Yes, Scannibal is free to download and use. A Pro option for heavy users is coming; the core allergy checks will always have a free tier.

Which allergies does it check?

All the major allergens (peanuts, tree nuts, milk, eggs, wheat, soy, fish, shellfish, sesame, mustard, celery, lupin, sulfites, gluten for celiac) plus anything you type in, and intolerances like lactose or FODMAPs.

Can it check a menu for my whole family?

Yes. Add family members once. Scan for everyone and you get a verdict per person plus the dishes that look best for all of you.

Does it work with menus in other languages?

Yes. It reads menus in any language and script, translates them, marks every dish for your family and writes a note in the local language to show staff.

How is Meal Check different from a calorie counter?

It counts calories and protein too, but with goals set (high protein, keto, diabetes-friendly, weight loss and more) it tells you whether a meal fits and exactly what to change. Scan a menu and it picks the best dishes for your goals.

Does it handle halal, kosher and other religious diets?

Yes: halal, kosher, Hindu vegetarian, Jain, Buddhist vegetarian, Sikh, no beef, no pork and more, including hidden ingredients like gelatin, lard, alcohol and carmine.

Does Meal Check help if I'm on a GLP-1 like Ozempic or Mounjaro?

Yes. Choose the GLP-1 eating style and Meal Check puts protein first, suggests sensible portions and flags greasy, fried or very sweet dishes that often make nausea worse, on your plate or on a menu. It never gives medication or dosing advice.

Can it help during pregnancy or race week?

Yes. In Meal Check, turn on Pregnant under "Right now" and it flags raw fish, deli meats, unpasteurized cheese, high-mercury fish and alcohol. Turn on Carb loading for race week and it favors carbs for your race; it turns itself off after 3 days. It's general guidance, not medical advice: follow your doctor, midwife or coach.

Is Scannibal available in Spanish?

Yes. The whole app, and every answer, is available in Spanish. Switch in Profiles.

Do I need an account?

No. There's no sign-up, and your profiles live on your phone.

Is it on Android?

Android is coming soon. For now Scannibal is on iPhone.

Can I trust it with a severe allergy?

Scannibal is a careful second pair of eyes, not a guarantee. AI can miss things and recipes change, so always confirm allergies with staff.
